• In May 2005 Rebecca graduated with a M.Div. from Pacific School of Religion at U.C. Berkeley. In July 2005, as she embarked on her move across the country, the moving van carrying all of her posessions was stolen. With the help of generous friends, she resettled in her home in Florida, which she calls Quiet Place. In September she began her new position as the Director of Pediatric Palliative Care at Shands at the University of Florida, using spirituality and music in caregiving. She enjoys attending services at First Presbyterian Church of High Springs where she is asked to speak from time to time.

• Session 1 outline Forming Spirituality in Teens:  Report From the Trenches 
• Drawing upon her 17 years "in the trenches" with teens, Rebecca clarifies the obstacles and issues for teens with organized religion. She discusses their strong spiritual interest but weak institutional inclination, contending that it is not the stained glass that turns them away, but the church's love for its own dogma and attachment to a small world view.  She has a success story to tell of her work with Gen X & Y  and challenges us to celebrate and expanding universe, the pluralism of our world community, and the diversity of the human family. Young people are waiting for this kind of Christianity. 
• Session 2 outline Forming Spirituality in Teens:  New Wine Skins 
      Examples of how secular art and media, as well as the writings of other spiritual
  traditions, can enhance the understanding of the Christian message and give a more integrated picture of truth. The creation of new rituals and sacred objects for
  teens will also be shared and explored.
