To See the Star is an expression of the personal philosophy and vision of Rebecca Brown. For 17 years, from 1984 - 2001, Rebecca served as director of Sonlight. Under her leadership, Sonlight grew from 17 to over 120 youth. This philosophy is the thread that was woven through all aspects of the program and resulted in an enduring and successful youth ministry that has touched the lives and hearts of thousands of youth, their families, and community members.

From August 2002 - May 2005, Rebecca earned a M.Div. from the Pacific School of Religion in Berkeley, CA. PSR is affiliated with both the Graduate Theological Union and University of California at Berkeley. In July 2005, as she embarked on her move across the country, the moving van carrying all of her posessions was stolen. With the help of generous friends, she resettled in her home in Florida, which she calls Quiet Place. In September she began her new position as the Director of Pediatric Palliative Care at Shands at the University of Florida, using spirituality and music in caregiving. She enjoys attending services at First Presbyterian Church of High Springs where she is asked to speak from time to time.
